A HUGE new 65-acre fairytale resort is in the works in Alberta

An Alberta resort famous for its enchanting fairytale cottages is expanding once again — this time with a massive 65-acre development in the works.

Charmed Resorts, which first opened in Blairmore in 2021 and later added a second spot in Mulhurst Bay near Edmonton, is now preparing for its third location. Founder and CEO Tyson Leavitt shared with Daily Hive that the new property will sit right next to the original Blairmore site and will feature 30 brand-new fairytale cottages and 30 Renaissance-inspired glamping campsites.

And the setting? Straight out of a storybook. “It’s right up against the ski hill and public lands, with a creek running through it, surrounded by beautiful hills and mountains,” Leavitt said. Guests will be able to hike directly into the Canadian Rockies in the summer or head out snowmobiling during the winter — all without leaving the resort.

Permits have been filed, and with government approvals in motion, Leavitt is hopeful construction can kick off this fall, with an opening set for next year. On top of the new cottages and campsites, the expansion will also bring a wedding pavilion, event space, spa, and restaurant. While the restaurant will start small, Leavitt says there’s room to grow if demand calls for it.

The fairytale resorts have already captured hearts worldwide, drawing visitors from as far as Australia and the UK. “People watch our social media and come from literally every corner of the globe. It’s blown our minds,” Leavitt shared. “As we keep building, we want every resort to be worth the trip for those flying in from across the world.”

And this expansion may only be the beginning. Leavitt confirmed Charmed Resorts is eyeing future sites in Utah, Oregon, British Columbia, and Toronto, taking a careful and methodical approach to their magical growth.
